- Dog Food/Treat Recall, I think this definitely calls for another
news posting! I'm sure many of you have been as worried over this
recall as we have and it seems every week there's something new
added to the list. It's very scary to say the least, but at this
time I think all of our babies are ok. I wonder now after looking
back at how sick Daisie and Crusher both got back in December
and January, if maybe we didn't get a hold of some of the recalled
food. Both dogs had all the signs and symptoms they have said
to watch for with the recall, but they seem to be fine now. We
did take them both to the vet at the first sign of illness and
got them started on medication which is probably the key to preventing
serious problems. Also, at the first mention of the recall we
immediately stopped feeding all the dogs canned food, although
they were not the slightest bit happy with us about that! And
yesterday the Ol' Roy brand biscuits were being recalled, I have
checked all our bags and we do have one that I'm not exactly sure
of since I cannot find the product & date coding anywhere
on the bag, so at this time we are just cutting out the dog treats
completely as well. I do hope to find the time to do some research
on this whole thing, it really bothers me the number of pets that
have died from this whole situation, and in reality there are
probably more that have just not been reported or associated with
the recall. It is very sad and I am praying for the best for all
of our puppies! We'd love to hear from any of you who have adopted
one of our Webster's Boxers puppies in regards to any information
you have on the recalls and/or your own experiences. Since my
last posting everything has been going great with BB and the other
dogs. BB and Macie are like the best of friends and Daisie and
Crusher have welcomed BB into the family and it's like one big
happy family of Boxers these days! BB and Macie are doing great
with their housebreaking and we are hoping to get both of them
into obedience classes sometime this summer. I have been diligently
working on a face lift for the website now that things have slowed
down as far as caring for puppies and hope to launch the new site
within the next month or so.

- "BB" makes her Grand Appearance to the Webster's Boxers
Family! Randy, James, Ethan and I left out early yesterday morning
for our big trip to Raleigh to get our newest family member, BB,
and welcome her to her new home. Macie came along for the ride
and upon first meeting BB it was a little surprising. BB took
right to Randy and the boys and myself, but she wasn't too impressed
with little Macie at first. But during the second pit stop on
the way home, the two of them seemed to do ok playing around with
each other a little bit in a grassy spot beside the convenience
store. Again, at home it was a little rough at first introducing
BB to the "big" dogs. While Crusher and Daisie were
feeling right at home in their normal environment, ready to welcome
the new family member, little BB was still a little uneasy with
her new surroundings. Friends and family came by yesterday afternoon
to see the new family member and BB took right to all the new
faces. She is definitely not fond of the whole collar and leash
situation, and we plan to break her into that slowly, but she
did great the first night in her crate. By this morning BB had
started warming up to everyone in the house, even the big dogs
and pesky Macie! All the girls are still working on establishing
their "places" in the house, but all in all things are
going very good with the new addition and everyone is adjusting
fine! Of course, I haven't forgotten to update the pictures! And
there will probably be many more to come over the next few months!

- It is official, Webster's boxers will be growing our family
once again! I've managed to squeeze in a few minutes for a quick
news posting! We are adopting a new female brindle puppy! She
will be 4 months old on the 18th of January and we will be driving
to the home of Amy Hardison on the 20th to pick her up. She is
absolutely beautiful and Randy and I both fell in love with her
from the first pictures we saw. She has a lot of Champions in
her bloodline, several of the same ones that Crusher has in his
and we are hoping to breed her and Crusher sometime next year.
We have been throwing the idea around for a while now to get a
female brindle to breed with Crusher in the hopes of producing
some brindle boxer puppies. We are very excited and can hardly
wait until the 20th to finally see our new baby in person! Until
then, we'd like to share some pictures Amy has sent us of our
new family member. There will be plenty more to come after she
has arrived at our home! We haven't decided on a name for her
yet, Randy says he needs to see her in person before he can choose
a good name in spite of the fact that I've already had a few very
good ideas. Anyway, anyone interested in helping us choose a name
can email us with your suggestions!
