The Whelping
After all is
said and done, I have to admit that this has definitely
been the hardest litter we have delivered. Although, I
believe I say that after each litter, and I have come to
believe it to be true, with each new whelping experience
we tread into new and unknown territories. Each whelping
experience brings on the same old nervous feelings as we
spend hours waiting and wondering if we need to get to
the vet to have things checked out. But with this one I
seemed to feel exceptionally nervous. Things happened on
such short notice due to the unexpectedness of this
whelping that I kept feeling like I just wasn't
completely prepared. But in the end, everything went
fairly well with all things considered. Due to some
health issues with Daisie the vet had prepared us that
there may be some complications with the puppies and we
may have some still born. We feel very blessed to have
only lost one in even though this was an unusually small
size litter for Daisie. Unfortunately, we had hoped to
have a little larger size litter as this will be the
last litter between Daisie and Crusher.
